ERIE, Colo.—Electric golf carts may now buzz around Erie streets, as long as they stay in areas where the speed limit is 25 mph or slower.

The Town Trustees gave carts the green light on a 4-3 vote on Tuesday.

The ordinance requires golf cart drivers to have a driver’s licenses, be at least 21 years old and have liability insurance.

Erie is the second city in Boulder County to allow golf carts on streets roads. Lyons approved a similar ordinance last year.
