COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—A federal investigator says the propellers weren’t working when a twin-engine Cessna crashed northeast of Colorado Springs, killing both men aboard.

National Transportation Safety Board investigator Jennifer Rodi says the Cessna 310 has been moved to a hangar in Greeley where the engines will be examined closely.

Authorities say 76-year-old William Boecking and 60-year-old Daniel Saunders were killed in the Monday crash. Both were certified pilots who lived in Colorado Springs.

Rodi says the plane had fuel and its cockpit instruments were working when it crashed.
