ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK — Rangers in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park said a climber has died after falling from a ledge on Longs Peak.

Park officials said the rangers on a climbing patrol witnessed the fall at 8 a.m. Friday. They said the man fell about 800 feet down the North Chimney Route of the 14,259-foot mountain. The rangers reached the body at 10 a.m. It was flown by helicopter off the mountain, then transferred to the Boulder County coroner, who was trying to identify the victim. The Associated Press
