Federal authorities are offering a $1,000 reward for tips that lead to the arrests and convictions of whoever blew up four Boulder County mailboxes Aug. 18.
The mailboxes were blown up by pipe-type devices in the 4200 and 4300 blocks of South Hampton Circle.
Mailbox vandalism is a federal crime that carries a maximum penalty of three years in federal prison. In addition, individuals who use an explosive to blow up federal property face up to 20 years in prison, according to a release from postal inspectors.
Anyone with information is asked to call U.S. Postal Inspectors at 1-877-876-2455.
