CONIFER, Colo.—A children’s amusement park miniature train involved in a derailment that injured 15 people will begin running again this weekend.
Tiny Town official said on a recording that the trains will run seven days a week until Labor Day, and on weekends in September.
The trains had not been running since a derailment Aug. 11 sent three people to the hospital. Most other adults and children on the train suffered bumps and bruises.
State officials fined the amusement park west of Denver $30,500. The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment says the volunteer engineer at Tiny Town was driving between 12 and 17 mph, as much as five times the normal speed limit, when a train went off the track.
