FORT CARSON, Colo.—A new Army program will allow Fort Carson soldiers to seek help for alcohol abuse anonymously so they don’t worry about their supervisors finding out.
The program is already in place at other Army posts including Alaska and Hawaii and it will begin Monday at Fort Carson. The program eliminates the requirement that soldiers notify their supervisors first before getting help from the Army’s Substance Abuse Program.
The Army is also hiring seven more counselors to work at Fort Carson for the program. Sens. Mark Udall and Michael Bennet have been calling for the program to come to Fort Carson.
Udall says the barriers to seeking treatment need to be eliminated.
