Getting your player ready...

Eric Young Jr., man of steal, became mortal in the first inning Monday night, thrown out attempting to swipe third base against the Giants. Young has been thrown out just twice in 14 attempts after going 4-for-8 last year. The Rockies have been more aggressive in trying to steal third base on the road, desperate to manufacture runs.

Not so fast, Fowler.

One day after setting the Rockies’ season record with his 12th triple, outfielder Dexter Fowler struck out in two of his first three at-bats.

Mora to love.

With Ian Stewart on the DL, Melvin Mora will receive more playing time at third base. Mora hit cleanup Monday, the ninth time he’s occupied the spot.
