A 47-year-old Denver woman will face charges in the deaths of two people killed on a motorcycle in Denver on Aug. 22, prosecutors said thursday.

Prosecutors say Margo Newman made an illegal turn across double lines into the path of the motorcycle carrying Jeffrey A. Clayburn, 48, and Rana Morrison-Classen, 40, both of Aurora. Newman was turning into an alley near her home at South Pearl Street and East Evans Avenue in Denver.

Newman faces two counts of careless driving resulting in death and driving on divided or controlled access highways.

Newman was charged by criminal summons and will arraigned in Denver County Court on Sept. 27, the District Attorney’s Office said.

She has been cited a number of times for traffic offenses in Denver and Boulder, and, in 2004, after her dog bit someone, records show.
