No panic:

Late in the second quarter Friday night at Stadium in Parker, Mullen punter Knight Laird, right, had the ball snapped over his head. As he tried to run it down against the Chaparral pursuit, Laird kept his composure. He chased it down near the Mustangs’ goal line, but instead of falling on it or opting to kick it out of bounds and allowing a safety to be scored, Laird picked it up, rolled right and, as he was sprinting away, unleashed a punt that went more than 60 yards in the air. “I know,” Chaparral coach John Vogt said, shaking his head. “It gets snapped over his head, then he does that.” Officially, Laird was credited with a 39-yard punt with no return.
