Carmelo Anthony still is hoping to persuade the Nuggets to trade him, and the all-star forward would like it to happen before the NBA’s 2010-11 season starts, Yahoo Sports reported Wednesday.
Anthony’s preference would be to play for the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks, an NBA source with knowledge of Anthony’s desire told Yahoo Sports.
The Bulls would have more value than the Knicks to trade to the Nuggets. The Bulls can offer a replacement small forward in Luol Deng, who has career averages of 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds, as well as young forwards James Johnson and Taj Gibson. Anthony has career averages of 24.7 points and 6.2 rebounds.
