GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Conservative Tom Tancredo is attracting Republican support in his third-party gubernatorial bid.
But Tancredo won’t share the stage with Republican Dan Maes and Democrat John Hickenlooper this weekend at a prominent debate in Grand Junction.
The Daily Sentinel reports that Tancredo won’t be allowed to join the gubernatorial debate Saturday sponsored by Club 20, a civic group in western Colorado. The club’s executive board declined Tancredo’s request to join the debate.
The Club 20 debates are a major stop for candidates during Colorado’s political season. Also Saturday, Club 20 plays host to the first debate between Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and his Republican challenger, Ken Buck.
