Height: 5-feet-10.
Weight: 175 pounds.
Age: 17. Born: July 22, 1993, in Colorado Springs.
High school sport: Golf (2009 Class 4A state runner-up, handicap of plus-2).
Grade-point average: 3.96.
Class: Senior.
My favorite subject: AP biology.
My favorite athlete: Carlos Gonzalez.
My favorite team: The Colorado teams — Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets and Avalanche.
What I listen to: Nineties music.
The best things on my training table: Whatever’s there on the dinner table, but I don’t ever eat Chinese food before any golf tournament. I’ve had some bad experiences.
Prematch ritual: I get myself mentally prepared. It just varies every single time. I’m not too superstitious.
Time management tip: First of all, I try to get schoolwork done ahead of time. When we travel, we’re gone. We spend three nights for state. I just try to get all my work and priorities out of the way to just focus on golf.
Planned career: Major in business; will sign in November to play golf at the University of Colorado.
My family: Parents Mike and Sandy, sister Laura.
I would love to visit: St. Andrews or Pebble Beach golf courses.
What high school sports mean to me: They’ve just been a building block to what, hopefully, leads to a very successful future in golf. And they’ve helped with what I’ve learned in other sports, especially when you get to college, that it’s a team game, even if you’re out there yourself. Each player is important. I’ve also developed some good friendships.
