GREELEY, Colo.—The city of Greeley and Weld County are getting $2 million in federal grants to stabilize neighborhoods threatened by foreclosures.

The Greeley Tribune reports the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development grants are part of more than $17 million distributed throughout the state in its Neighborhood Stabilization Program.

Greeley and Weld officials can use the money to buy, renovate or demolish foreclosed or abandoned land and property. It can also be used to help low- to moderate-income home buyers.
