Cherry Creek High grad Ben “Benry” Henry, 24, is on the “young” team in the upcoming edition of “Survivor: Nicaragua.” This outing pits two teams against each otherover 40 and under 30. Experience vs. energy.

It’ll debut in Denver at 7 p.m. Wednesday on KCNC- Channel 4. Benry will be back in town for a private viewing party with family and friends.

These days Benry is a club promoter and a co-owner of the sports lounge The Parlour Hollywood in L.A. Does that give him an edge? We know it’s a jungle out there.

“Maybe a little bit of an edge,” Benry told me Friday. “You get accustomed to dealing with all types of people. And I get along with everybody.”

He says the experience was beyond anything he could have imagined — especially with no toilet paper, no toothbrush and no mirror. “It’s a very humbling, surreal experience,” he says.

And also a beautiful one. “The sunsets were amazing,” he says. “Bright orange and blue. God’s a Broncos fan. And this couldn’t have come at a better time in my life.”

Heidi

You haven’t heard too much about Crested Butte reality-TV star Heidi Montag lately — but you’re about to hear a lot from her mother.

Darlene Egelhoff, Heidi’s mom, sent me an e-mail this week announcing the kick-off of her tell-all blog, “Metamorphosis of the Mother” (). She writes that she’s getting calls from “other media” and that interviews are in the works.

She writes that the restaurant she runs with her husband, Tim Egelhoff, The Timberline, will close at the end of this month after 21 years “due to a poor economy.” Her son, Sky, is off to college and she has entered “the dreaded EMPTY NEST.” The blog will cover her 27 years of parenting — especially to Heidi Montag, “who has not spoken to me in 6 months.”

So I call back — and get the silent treatment. Darlene then writes, “Just found out I’m obliged not to do an interview till November, thanks for your consideration. Darlene.” Sounds like she sold the saga of Heidi’s mom. Can’t wait.

Facing facts

Talked to KHOW morning talker Peter Boyles on Friday — and he was sounding kinda fuzzy. Seems he’s recuperating from a brow- and neck-lift from plastic surgeon Dr. Brent Smith — “Face-lift to the stars,” says Boyles. He had the procedure Wednesday, he’ll be back on the air Monday with a younger, tighter mug.

“I debated it and debated it,” he said. “I’m 66 and single so I figured, what the. . . . Right now I look like a 35-year-old who had a bad Friday night.”

We’ll print before-and-after pics when Pete’s back to normal.
