CRIPPLE CREEK, Colo.—The Teller County coroner says two people died in a Cripple Creek house fire from smoke inhalation.

The coroner says 28-year-old Joshua Carroll and 19-year-old Erica Nicole Girard died from the fire that began at about 3 a.m. Friday. Authorities say the fire started in the second floor of a two-story home and that someone in the house reported it.

A third resident in the home was injured in the fire. The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that 51-year-old Keith Girard was airlifted to a hospital.
