AURORA — The city’s preliminary budget for 2011 calls for about $7 million in cuts but no major reductions in services.

Departments across the board are being asked to cut $1.9 million, including eliminating 4.5 vacant positions, according to interim City Manager Nancy Freed.

To make up the shortfall, another $1.3 million from a risk fund will be used to fund replacement of the city’s fleet and other equipment.

The 2011 proposed general fund budget is $232.5 million, up slightly from the adopted budget for 2010 of $231.6 million.
