Denver Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting.

Lance Cook, 40, is being held at the Denver Jail as a suspect in a “murder” investigation, according to a Denver Police Department media release.

At about 2:30 a.m. Saturday police responded to the 5000 block of Alcott Street, in northwest Denver, on a report of “gunshots being fired in the area,” police said. Officers found a “victim who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.”

The victim, a man who was not identified, died at the scene. Police did not release a motive in the case.
