A third solar- energy system will be installed at Denver International Airport, it was announced Tuesday.
Oak Leaf Energy Partners of Denver and Constellation Energy Group of Baltimore will develop a 4.4-megawatt system. Intermountain Electric of Aurora will begin construction of the system this fall with completion planned early next year.
Constellation will finance and own the solar installation, and DIA will buy electricity produced over 20 years.
DIA commissioned a 2-megawatt solar system in 2008, and a 1.6-megawatt system began operation in March.
