Porches connect neighbors with neighbors, and the Southwest Porch at Skyline Park aims to do just that, say Southwest Airlines officials.
Located at the base of the historic Daniels and Fisher Tower at 16th and Arapahoe streets, the year-round outdoor lounge begins offering pizza and drinks Thursday.
The Porch is the Dallas-based airline’s way to show it is “Dedicated to Denver.”
Linda Rutherford, Southwest’s vice president of communication, said the venue will showcase the carrier’s “legendary customer service” and “warm hospitality.”
From 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the Porch will serve pizza by David Bravdica, whose street cart Brava! Pizzeria Della Strada has been at the Skyline site. Lannie Garrett’s Clocktower Cabaret will pour the drinks.
The Perfect Petal of Denver designed the lodgelike space with the yellow canopy.
Southwest will give away a pair of round-trip tickets to Porch customers at lunch and during happy hour Thursday and will double frequent-flier miles for travel to and from Denver between Sept. 23 and Dec. 15.
