Two people were found dead late Monday night in a Thornton apartment complex after police received a call that someone had been shot.
The call came in about 11:30 p.m., and when officers arrived at the Hawthorne Apartments, 11801 York St., they found a 39-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man dead in Building 4 of the complex, said Matt Barnes, spokesman for the Thornton Police Department.
Barnes described the two as boyfriend-girlfriend.
Barnes said police are not searching for a suspect and don’t believe the public is in danger.
However, Barnes said that investigators have not “ruled anything out” and are continuing to investigate the deaths.
Barnes said the identities of the two will not be released until next of kin are notified. He said the cause and manner of death will be released following an autopsy by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
