Kiki and Peggy Vandeweghe have sold and moved out of their mansion next to Denver Botanic Gardens. Now they’re settling into their new digs in Beverly Hills. Susan Hildebrand, head of The Collection Antiques at 899 Broadway, says Peggy wants the new place to be very modern, while the Denver house was very traditional. So The Collection is now home to more than $500,000 of Vandeweghe furniture, all of it up for sale.
I took a tour through about six rooms of Vandeweghe stuff — all very French and Italian and ornate. It wouldn’t fit in my pad — but it may be perfect for yours, and a story comes with it.

Robert Garner, the guy who brought Broadway touring productions to Denver for decades, has plenty of memorabilia. And he was surprised to find that John Travolta and Marilu Henner were both in the chorus.

Carla Madison, District 8’s City Councilwoman, got married in the mayor’s office Wednesday afternoon — celebrating her 10-year marriage to Paul Weiss.
Yes, they did tie the knot 10 years ago in a ceremony — but they never made it official, like getting a license or anything as conventional as that.
“We thought we might as well make it legal,” Madison says.
Unlike the time she hitchhiked across the United States solo, the couple is honeymooning by taking two train rides through Colorado and New Mexico and spending time with some pals in Taos.

The Disney movie “Secretariat” is expected to be a horsy hit when it opens wide on Oct. 8.
The story of the horse that won the Triple Crown in 1973 stars Diane Lane, who portrays the horse’s owner Penny Chenery — who lives in Boulder.
Chenery has attended two private screening of the movie — one in Boulder and last Sunday night at the Landmark with friends and family. “Entertainment Tonight” sent out a crew to catch Chenery at the Sunday night show.
If you’d like to attend an advanced screening of “Secretariat” visit .
