Daniel Shaw allegedly wore a flat brim on his cap is facing a steep charge of armed bank robbery.

Federal authorities said the 20-year-old from Centennial is the so-called Flatbill Bandit robbed a Chase Bank branch in Broomfield Tuesday afternoon.

The FBI said earlier the Flatbill Bandit also is suspected of robbing two banks Monday: a Wells Fargo in Littleton and a Chase Bank in Fort Collins.

“The investigation is continuing into other cases and additional charges are possible,” said Jeff Dorschner, a spokesman for the Department of Justice, which prosecutes bank robberies.

State databases show no previous arrests for Shaw.

Crime Stoppers offered a $2,000 reward and released a clear surveillance photo of the robber to the media a few hours after the robbery Tuesday. A tip to Wheat Ridge police led authorities to a home in Arapahoe County, where Shaw was arrested Wednesday morning.

He is in federal custody without bond.
