At the movies
Nuns, they’re not
Ben Affleck returns to telling stories rooted in his hometown as co-writer of the screenplay, director and co-star of “The Town.” Also starring “Mad Men” hottie Jon Hamm, this crime thriller is based on author Chuck Hogan’s acclaimed read, “Prince of Thieves,” about four bank robbers on the run from the FBI in Boston. R. 2 hours, 10 minutes.
Clique crunch time
Emma Stone (“Superbad”) takes a charming turn in “Easy A,” a film made in the vein of those beloved ’80s teen flicks that tells the story of a high school girl weathering the results of an unearned bad-girl reputation. PG-13. 1 hour, 30 minutes.
Hmebodies
Have heart, will travel
“Letters to Juliet,” now on DVD and starring Amanda Seyfried, follows a young American woman to Italy where she sets off an unimaginably romantic chain of events. PG.
Creative heroics
Don’t feel like seeing Emma Stone at the movies this weekend? Check out “Paper Man,” now on DVD. In it, Jeff Daniels plays a struggling novelist with a superimaginary superhero. Stone plays his younger platonic friend who helps the writer regain greatness. R.
