More than 8,000 people participated Saturday morning in the Alz heimer’s Association Memory Walk in Denver City Park, making it the biggest turnout in the 21-year history of the event, organizers said.
“Money is still coming in, and we are confident that we will make our goal of $780,000,” said Linda Mitchell, chief executive of the Alz heimer’s Association of Colorado.
Of the 11 Memory Walks held around the state, Denver’s is always the largest, Mitchell said. Next week’s Memory Walk — the final one this year — will be held in Walsenburg.
