A parade to thank the firefighters who worked on the Fourmile fire in Boulder will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday on Pearl Street.

Alexia Parks organized the parade in just a week’s time thanks to the large amount of support, she said.

“I had a couple tell me ‘we just want to hug a fireman,'” Parks said. “They will have signs at the parade saying hug a firefighter.”

Children at Boulder area schools have been at work all week designing art to feature at the parade.

The parade will be part of Boulder’s Green Street day in which streets will be closed off for an entire day to encourage healthy and active community living.
