LUBBOCK, Texas — Garrett Gilbert threw for two touchdowns and 227 yards to lead No. 6 Texas past Texas Tech 24-14 in a sloppy victory for the Longhorns on Saturday night.

Texas put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter after draining more than nine minutes off the clock. The 22-play drive included a risky and successful fake punt on fourth-and-1 on its own 29.

Gilbert capped the march with a 1-yard pass to Barrett Matthews to give the Horns a 24-14 lead with 9:26 left. Gilbert finished 21-of-36 with three interceptions. The game included seven turnovers, four by the Longhorns (3-0, 1-0) and three by the Red Raiders (2-1, 0-1).

No. 4 TCU 45, Baylor 10

FORT WORTH, Texas — Ed Wesley ran for 165 yards and two touchdowns and Mountain West Conference power Texas Christian stretched its home winning streak to 16 games.

The Horned Frogs (3-0) scored touchdowns on their first five drives to build a 35-3 lead and had 335 total yards by halftime.

Oklahoma State 65, Tulsa 28

STILLWATER, Okla. — Brandon Weeden passed for 409 yards and six touchdowns, three to Justin Blackmon, and Oklahoma State set a school record for total offense.

Weeden’s left the game after one series in the third quarter, following an 81-yard scoring pass to Blackmon, the sixth-longest pass play in school history.

The teams combined for 1,150 yards of offense, including 722 by Oklahoma State, breaking the school record of 717 set against Kansas during Barry Sanders’ Heisman Trophy season in 1988.

Kansas St. 27, Iowa St. 20

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Daniel Thomas rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns on a career-high 34 carries and Kansas State rallied to beat Iowa State and improve to 3-0 for the first time since 2006.

Missouri 27, San Diego State 24

COLUMBIA, Mo. — T.J. Moe scored on a 68-yard pass from Blaine Gabbert with 51 seconds left.

Missouri (3-0) had fallen behind by four points after a 32-yard field goal with just over two minutes remaining for San Diego State (2-1).

Texas A&M 27, Florida International 20

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Panthers (0-2) drove to the Texas A&M 7-yard line after Gray’s TD, but the Aggies held them on fourth down to get the victory.

The Aggies (3-0) were down 20-6 entering the fourth quarter.
