FORT COLLINS, Colo.—A Fort Collins man has been arrested on charges of buying 75 cell phones on credit from Sprint Inc., selling 31 of them to a pawn shop and failing to repay Sprint.

Thirty-three-year-old Crusificio “Cross” Gambino is scheduled to appear in court Friday on felony theft counts.

In a telephone interview from jail, Gambino told the Fort Collins Coloradoan he should be judged only by God, not the court system.

He’s being held under $1,000 bail on the theft charges and a total of $13,500 bail on three other fraud-related cases from Weld County, Boulder County and the city of Fort Collins.

An arrest warrant affidavit says Gambino opened a business account with Sprint in March 2009. Sprint says he bought the 75 phones over two months.
