GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Mesa County officials say an elderly man is the first person to die from the West Nile in the county this year.
County health officials announced the death Wednesday. The man’s name was not released.
Mesa County has had 10 cases of West Nile reported this year and some of the people required hospitalization. Officials say last year there were two cases and one death.
