HONOLULU — After a 6 1/2-week excavation mission, a U.S. military team returned from the remote Pacific atoll of Tarawa this week with the remains of what are believed to be two U.S. servicemen who died in a World War II battle there. A Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command spokesman said forensic scientists will analyze the bones to identify them.
