BOULDER, Colo.—Boulder Police say they have arrested a second man who faces hate crime charges in the beating of a Nigerian student at the University of Colorado.
Police say 23-year-old Zachrey Harris surrendered Wednesday at the Adams County Jail. He was arrested on suspicion of harassment and a bias-motivated crime, both misdemeanors.
Authorities say Harris and another suspect were with Joseph Owen Coy of Lafayette, who was arrested early Saturday on suspicion of punching student Olubiyi Ogundipe in the face after the group called the two Nigerian men “monkeys.”
The third suspect hasn’t been named. The Daily Camera newspaper reports that Coy is free on $10,000 bond.
