Eric Moats is having an interesting season at Utah State. The former ThunderRidge High School star, who took a one-season detour at Air Force, has caught a pass in 15 consecutive games for the Aggies. He got his first start of the season last week against Fresno State, after a big game in Week 2 against Idaho State in which he caught a 15-yard pass TD pass (three catches for 65 yards). In Utah State’s season opener at Oklahoma, Moats, who also is the holder on field goals, ran a fake field goal and threw a TD pass but it was disallowed by an ineligible-receiver penalty. The Aggies lost just 31-24 to the Sooners. Going into Saturday’s game at San Diego State, Moats has five catches for 77 yards.
