The United Auto Workers plans to withdraw funds from JPMorgan Chase & Co. to protest its foreclosure policies and a labor dispute at one of the Wall Street bank’s clients, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Reuters cited the union as announcing Thursday.
In a written statement, the UAW said it was prepared to remove its funds from JPMorgan in response to the bank’s refusal to declare a ban on foreclosures in Michigan, the union’s stronghold, and a dispute with R.J. Reynolds over farmworkers’ wages.
