DENVER—Colorado state Senate Republicans have issued their reform agenda for next year.
Assistant Majority Leader Greg Brophy of Wray says the GOP goal is to limit state spending to core functions and reduce Colorado’s dependence on federal subsidies.
Brophy says Republicans want to go to a priority-based budget system, reduce the cost of state employees to align with private companies, and institute a state hiring freeze.
Democrats are waiting to roll out their agenda until after the November elections.
