FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — It might be another week before Darrelle Revis plays again for the Jets.

The all-pro cornerback did not practice Wednesday, spending part of the session on a stationary bike and also working with a trainer on the side. Revis is recovering from a strained left hamstring, and his availability for the team’s game at Buffalo on Sunday remains uncertain.

“He’s still questionable there,” coach Rex Ryan said. “But, I don’t want to rule him out yet . . . because I’d hate to be fined by the league if he did play.”

If Revis does not play, Ryan said there’s a chance Drew Coleman could get the start over struggling rookie Kyle Wilson opposite Antonio Cromartie.

Rice’s status unclear.

Baltimore running back Ray Rice did not practice because of a bruised right knee.

His absence left open the possibility that Willis McGahee will start against the Steelers on Sunday.

Polian takes new tone.

Colts president Bill Polian says he was “very imprecise” when he described an 18-game schedule as a done deal.

Two days after saying a longer schedule is a “fait accompli” on his local radio show, Polian returned to the airways and told ESPN’s “Mike and Mike In The Morning” program what he meant was that the Colts are preparing as if the 18-game season is going to happen.

Footnotes.

Rams running back Steven Jackson reported on his Twitter feed that his groin strain was feeling better after acupuncture treatment, but he’s not yet ready to practice.

• Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme is not practicing for the third straight week because of a sprained ankle.

• Saints quarterback Drew Brees says he’s wearing a brace on his left knee but is not having any trouble practicing.

• Cardinals receiver Steve Breaston will miss at least one game after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.
