The sixth annual FridaStyle ArtShow will be celebrated from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday at The Comfort Cafe, 3945 Tennyson St., during the monthly Berkeley neighborhood and Tennyson Arts District art walk. Guests are encouraged to wear colorful clothes as they stroll the shrine exhibit and browse the works of a dozen artists inspired by the colorful life of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. The “Mexi-marketplace” includes paintings, jewelry, folk art, mixed media, cards and housewares. Or you can put $5 in the art-vending machine and win a bubble of handcrafted treasure. Joy Barrett, owner of Studio Bead, no longer has a retail store in the area but is keeping the event alive by hosting it at the nonprofit, pay-what-you-can cafe.
