The double stabbing happened about 1:45 a.m. in the 600 block of South Flamingo Street, police said.

Both victims were taken to Denver Health Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Police said Zelkin had a history of mental-health issues and was considered armed and dangerous.
