Danielle Minch had 16 kills and Jacque Davisson added 14 as the Colorado State volleyball team scratched out a hard-fought 3-2 (25-15, 20-25, 25-10, 19-25, 15-9) win over San Diego State at Moby Arena on Friday night.
Audrey Hemmings was the defensive stalwart for the 18th-ranked Rams (13-2, 3-0 Mountain West) with 19 digs and three service aces. The Aztecs fell to 7-8, 2-1 in the MWC.
• Caroline Kurtz had a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs, but it was not enough for the Air Force volleyball team (3-12, 0-2 MWC), which lost 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-13) to New Mexico (8-5, 1-1) in Albuquerque on Thursday night.
Ashley Rhoades had 14 kills and two service aces for the Lobos, who also got 10 kills each from Taylor Hadfield and Lisa Meeter, a former standout at Colorado Springs Christian.
