GREELEY — Northern Colorado had high hopes coming into Saturday that it could knock off No. 12 Montana and finally get that signature Big Sky Conference win.

Instead, the Bears, as linebacker James Schrenk put it, “laid an egg.”

Montana quarterback Justin Roper threw two touchdowns and ran for another as the Grizzlies bolted to a 24-point lead in the first half and cruised to a 30-7 victory over the Bears before a crowd of 6,114 at Nottingham Field.
