Sophomore goalkeepers Maria Kahn (Overland) and Lara Campbell combined for the Pioneers’ shutout. Alex Holland made 11 saves for Louisiana-Monroe.

The Pioneers improved to 10-2 overall and 4-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. Louisiana-Monroe fell to 2-10-1 and 0-4. DU plays South Alabama on the road Friday.

Baylor blanks Buffs.

Baylor defeated the Colorado women’s soccer team 1-0 in double overtime in Waco, Texas, dropping the Buffaloes to 5-6-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the Big 12 Conference.

Colorado outshot the Bears in the first half 7-3 and earned five corner kicks while allowing the Bears (9-3-1, 2-2) none. But Kelly Ross, the Buffs’ senior defensive leader, was injured and didn’t return to the game.

Baylor scored the winning goal in the 104th minute.

“I am a really sad coach because of all the tackles and effort that the girls put into the game. To have it end like that is really sad,” said CU’s Bill Hempen. “We have to score goals and we’re not doing that right now. We have to find a way to do that before next weekend.”
