PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo.—The North American Aerospace Defense Command will send planes on training flights over Teller County west of Colorado Springs.

The flights are planned Monday evening.

NORAD says the planes will practice interception and identification procedures as well as responding to multiple threats.

Officials say residents in the Divide area may see or hear fighter jets near another plane playing the role of a “track of interest.”

NORAD, based at Peterson Air Force Base, is a joint U.S.-Canadian command that patrols the skies over North America.
