The only offseason acquisition by the Avs, in a trade with Phoenix, Winnik is known as a gritty winger. He will be given lead responsibilities on the penalty kill, where he earned high marks with the Coyotes.

Plays a constant in-your-face game and is the undisputed biggest trash talker on the team. Hopes to rebound from a poor offensive season.
