Lantern tours of historic town.

Central City will offer lantern-lit tours Saturday nights in October. Tours depart from Century Casino from 7 to 7:30 p.m. every 5 to 7 minutes. The 60- to 90-minute tours involve a significant amount of walking up stairs and hills, so sturdy shoes are encouraged. While the tours are free, visitors must reserve a spot at or 303-327-2255.

Spooky Cheyenne tours.

The Cheyenne Street Railway Trolley will offer Halloween Ghost Tours at 6 and 7:30 Oct. 22-23 and Oct. 29-30 each night. The tour takes passengers through Cheyenne’s allegedly haunted highways and paranormal passages, while a trolley driver relates dozens of spooky tales from the Wyoming capitol’s past. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. 307-778-3133.

Elizabeth harvest festival.

The town of Elizabeth will host a Trick-or-Treat Street and harvest festival Oct. 30. Kids of all ages can visit local businesses for treats, as well as enjoy food, music, games and a variety of vendors. Admission is free. or 303-646-4287.

Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival.

The Georgetown Bighorn Sheep Festival is Nov. 13. Celebrate with music, food, activities, train rides and educational programs. viewing or 303-291-7275.
