BOULDER, Colo.—University of Colorado-Boulder officials revealed the contents of a time capsule placed in the cornerstone of Macky Auditorium in 1910.

Among the artifacts revealed Friday were photographs, copies of newspapers, a CU catalog, and a copy of the will of banker and early Boulder resident Andrew Macky, whose $300,000 bequest funded the auditorium.

CU officials enlisted the help of the Boulder Masons to find the capsule.

Officials knew of the time capsule’s existence but didn’t know its exact location until after an extended search.

After some digging, the masons and CU facilities managers earlier this month found the bronze box containing the artifacts, which was accessible only from underneath the cornerstone.
