EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Vikings coach Brad Childress said he has talked with Brett Favre about an NFL investigation into allegations that Favre sent racy photos to a former game hostess while he played for the Jets.
Childress said a report on the website Deadspin and the subsequent news of a league investigation have not been a distraction for the team as it prepares to play the Jets in a Monday night game.
“We just talk about what’s out there and look it right in the eye and deal with it to the extent we can,” Childress said Saturday. “It doesn’t affect anybody else in this locker room, except Brett Favre.”
Childress said he knew nothing about the details of the Deadspin report and hasn’t heard from league officials. He declined to speak specifically about his conversation with Favre.
Of more concern to the Vikings is Favre’s tendinitis in his throwing elbow. Favre is listed as probable to play against the Jets.
Childress said Favre had an MRI recently that revealed only mild inflammation. He said the 41-year-old quarterback’s soreness “flares up every now and again.”
Vikings cornerback Chris Cook is out after having surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee. Minnesota center John Sullivan is listed as questionable (calf injury) and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe listed as probable (hamstring injury).
Revis listed as probable
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Star cornerback Darrelle Revis and linebacker Calvin Pace are is listed as probable by the Jets for their game against the Vikings.
Revis hasn’t played since the first half of the Jets’ 28-14 win over New England in Week 2 because of a strained hamstring. Pace has missed the first four games because of a broken foot.
