PYONGYANG, North Korea — North Korea’s state television is showing a live broadcast of a huge military parade attended by leader Kim Jong-Il and heir apparent Kim Jong-Un.
The rare live broadcast this morning showed the two Kims standing on a reviewing stand at Pyongyang’s central Kim Il-Sung Square. The parade is part of celebrations marking the 65th anniversary of the founding of the country’s ruling Workers’ Party.
The footage showed the North Korean flag being raised and military officers in full dress uniform watching as a band played rousing music and a crowd looked on.
