WINDSOR, Colo.—A fire that burned haystacks and damaged two buildings in Windsor has been ruled arson.
The fire early Friday morning caused an estimated $20,000 damage. Mike Davis of the Windsor-Severance Fire Protection District told KMGH-TV that an accelerant sniffing dog picked up the scent of an accelerant, likely gasoline, at 12 to 16 different places.
A cornfield next to the haystacks survived.
State and federal investigators helped probe the fire.
At least six other suspicious fires have been reported in Weld County in the past three weeks, including one that destroyed an unoccupied house.
