KB Home is closing its accounting and administrative-services center in Denver as it consolidates those functions into its Phoenix office.

The move is expected to help the Los Angeles- based homebuilder better manage its costs and streamline operations. The company expects to offer positions at the Phoenix center to some of its 66 Denver-based employees.

“KB Home will be working with employees affected to see if there are opportunities to put their expertise and talents to use in another capacity within KB Home, either at the consolidated accounting center in Phoenix or in another KB Home office,” said Cara Kane, spokeswoman for the company.

The consolidation does not affect KB’s homebuilding operations here.

“We continue to be committed to the Denver market,” Kane said. “In fact, we are opening three new communities in the coming months.”
