The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League dropped their home opener, falling 5-3 to the Arizona Sundogs at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland.

The Eagles gave up two early goals, including one short-handed score after turning the puck over at their own blue line. Colorado fought back, scoring three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead into the third period. The Sundogs responded in the third, scoring three goals to put the Eagles away for good.

Colorado finished 2-for-8 on the power play and held Arizona scoreless on three extra-man opportunities.

It was a record 268th consecutive sellout crowd at the Budweiser Events Center.
