BRIGHTON, Colo.—The Adams County Sheriff’s office says a woman serving a 45-day jail sentence for theft was found dead in her cell.
Sheriff’s officials say 27-year-old Bernadette Jaquez was unresponsive during a routine check Oct. 12. She was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead later that day. Officials announced the death Monday.
The sheriff’s office says there’s no indication of foul play and they are investigating the cause of death.
