A second person has died from injuries suffered in a rollover crash in Lakewood.
One female occupant died at the scene Monday afternoon, and a second person, a 40-year-old woman, died Monday night at St. Anthony Central Hospital, said Steve Davis, a Lakewood police spokesman.
The double-fatal crash happened shortly after 2 p.m. Monday near C-470 and West Alameda Parkway. The 1997 Ford Explorer that rolled apparently struck a 1999 Oldsmobile Aurora before careening down an embankment.
A girl between the ages of 8 and 14 was taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Aurora. Details on her condition were not released. A 57-year-old woman in the Oldsmobile was treated for minor injuries.
